Hi Wamuggers!
I will be due to upgrade to a new Mac at the beginning of next year.
While I was in at Digilife last week, I mentioned that as I had bought
my last computer from them, I would probably purchase my next one there
as long as the educational price still applied. (I am a TAFE lecturer,
and have bought all of my previous computers on educational discount).
Digilife told me that Apple have ceased to offer educational prices
after April 30 2006. Needless to say, I was devastated, having been a
Mac owner for more than 12 years - dating back to my first - a
luxurious LC III.
Later in the week, whilst browsing at Macs-4-u in Midland, Charles
informed me that Apple had not discontinued the educational price, it
is still available if hardware/software is bought online.
I am searching for assistance with the following. Here comes my
question(s).
a) Is there anywhere in Australia where I could buy my next
computer (I'm thinking a iMac Dual Chip) where the educational discount
will still apply ?
b) Is it worth buying a computer online to get the educational
discount, given the associated costs, such as postage, handling,
delivery, etc.?
c) Has anyone on the list encountered this dilemma?
Thanking you for your support.
Regards
Rosie :-)
