I'll be out looking for a 100% plain solid colour mouse mat soon, the
paper works fine but I just know i'll start scribbling notes on it soon
Yvonne
Yes, this would be correct. The optical reads the colour separations
differently, so as it moves from one colour to another the optic picks up
the information differently, which is why it bounces over the screen.
it took me quite a few months to convince one area I support to do
away with their funky 3M mouse mats (you know the ones that are
really thin with a "sand paper" like texture) these, I've found , are
pretty much the worse mouse mats for optical mice. Having paid about
$40 each for them back in the late 90's, well, damned if they were
going to throw away expensive mouse mats even if it made mousing
with optical mice worse than the problems these mats solved mousing
with ball mice.
even a "dirty desktop" can do this (this is your real desktop not
your computers virtual desktop) and by dirty I just meen a few weeks
of having your palm deposit sweat and grime it may not even be
visibly "dirty"
