Hi Reg & others experiencing no audio in some 'asx' Streams,

It seems that the Video streams we are unable to get Audio are a Windows Media Voice codec which Flip4Mac is not compatible with yet.

Flip4Mac are bringing out a Beta release of Flip4Mac v2.1 soon which should handle the WM Voice 9 Codec as well as support Intel-Powered Macs.

Hi Reg,

Well, some of the videos, the audio works, others 'no audio'.

The problem seems to be the format of the Audio:

The ones that the Audio works for us has Format: Windows Media Audio 9 Standard, Stereo, 22050Hz Windows Media Video 8, 398 x 224

The ones that the Audio DOESN'T work have Format: Windows Media Video 8 (nothing about Audio).

Hi Reg,

Have you updated to Quicktime 7.1.1 ?
I just tried the videos again today .... and the videos work with sound.
They didn't before.

Dear WAMUGgers

I've been viewing ABC Science videos at http://www.abc.net.au/ science/experimentals/

As you might already know, Microsoft has given up on Windows Media Player for Mac (bless their little hearts), and instead recommended flip4Mac plugin for Quicktime.

Can anyone explain why I can't get sound in Quicktime flip4Mac replays at this website, but it's Ok in RealPlayer. I'd prefer to get the full video in Quicktime as then I can save it for future classroom use (Quicktime Pro).

Regards

Reg
