Hi Paul, Can't say that I tried this specifically but I think the problem is that it is not a "Window" as such (we used to call them dialogue boxes). I did look under the "Window" menu which typically lists all the open windows that CMD+` would cycle through and couldn't see the offending box/window listed - it only became visible again when I went to restart the computer.
I'm thinking that it belonged to some background "process?" which had hung - resulting in: > - I noticed that "compressing pdf image" (or similar) was showing in the > menu bar with the spinning clock type icon (like loading a web page) - there > was also a red dot next to it but clicking that just gave an error chime.
