File blocking problem

I am trying to send a Word document template file to someone with a  
PC and  an omninet address.  It keeps coming back saying that they  
will only let through files with a .zip extension.   Notwithstanding  
creating a .zip archive and deleting the .dot extension before  
zipping it still keeps being rejected.  Any thoughts on this?
