I recall something where I had a similar problem, i thought the resolution was something like, we use the middle pair and they use the outside pair......something like that.

Hi everyone, can someone tell me if the wiring of an RJ12 in Australia is the same as an RJ12 in UK? My daughter has a phone which worked in Uk but although it works here it does not RING here.
 Has anyone any suggestions?  Thanks for any suggestions.
