In my office we have a server (that I own !) running Windows 2000 which I do not have any administration access (due to our inflexible IT department).

This server runs Windows 2000 on which I have a user account that requires changing the password every 30 days.

When I want to access the server (simply to copy data onto the drive), I can do so with my Mac as long as I update the password using one of the "locked down" workstations every 30 days.

The question is, is there any software that I can install on the Mac that will enable me to change the password every 30 days without using one of the workstations ?

I was considering buying Macs to totally replace the Windows workstations however this appears a major hurdle. Can anybody lead me in the right direction ?

You could probably use Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection (comes as part of Microsoft Office). the only problem is that the Windows box would have to be set up to accept remote connections of this sort. Another IT department roadblock, I suspect.
