Create Archive from the Finder File menu and Drop Stuff create
different types of zip file it seems. I am now finding that
CleanArchiver gives the least hassle. I am annoyed at not being
able to use the Finder "zipper". All attachments are of course
sent as "Windows Friendly".

Was your use of the term "Drop Stuff" a typo? Drop Stuff will create
only Stuffit archives, where as what you need is Drop Zip (from the
same company) which properly creates zip archives. Very few Windows
users would be aware of what a Stuffit archive is, let alone have a
copy of Stuffit Expander to open them.
I must say that I have never had any problems sending zip files to
Windows users, which have been created with the Finder's own Zip
creation utility.
