Hi Severin,
Not usually an easy task to do as the core part of OS X likes to
guard over it's shorts names viciously and does not take well to them
being changed if not done properly!
I found this little script/app someone has written for just this
purpose... read all the documentation well and BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!
try - ChangeShortName 1.2 (Lots of thought into the title but does
exactly what it supposed to!)
http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/16620
Hope that helps - but let me stress again.... BACKUP before playing!
Regards,
Dustin.
