the DVD RW drive in my G5 tower has died... not under warranty so not
willing to pay apple tech repair prices.
reads and writes CD's fine, will burn DVD-R's and DVD-RW's fine but
will not read data backup disks I made on DVD-R disks nor will it
read commercially available video DVD's
any one had any joy using a non OEM, 3rd party internally on a late
model mac without needing to use Toast (so using OSX's onw burning
tools)
yep I know xlr8 your mac's database search shows a large number of
drives such as the LITE-ON LH-20A1H, Pioneer DVR-112DBK, LG GSA-H12L
etc etc
http://forums.xlr8yourmac.com/drivedb/search.drivedb.lasso with
DVD+R/RW +DVD -R/RW, G5 tower, 10.4
just wanting some local experience
