Hi Severin, You say there is no problem with existing documents, or documents started using templates - just new blank documents.
As I understand it, a new blank document is based on the template "Normal" - so maybe the problem is with this default Template - if it got corrupted or saved with some strange setting. For me, the normal template is in Documents/Microsoft Used Data and if you trash this, I think Word will just create a new normal template - if that works, just empty the trash. Alternatively, if you have customised the normal template and you know when the problem started, retrieve the normal template from a pre-problem backup and substitute that, Good luck. Neil -- Neil R.
