Your G3 Powerbook has a screen resolution of 1024x768 pixels (768 is
the vertical size/resolution)
The new Macbook (though physically smaller screen 13" widescreen
ratio 16:10 vs 14" 4:3 ratio) is actually 1280x800 pixels, so you
actually have more vertical resolution there than you have on your
old Powerbook anyway - without external monitors as others have
suggested. The MAcbook Pro has a bit more resolution being 1440x960.
Either way, you will see more of your documents vertically and
horizontally on any new Mac than you can see on your old PowerBook.
How's that for progress?

One store suggested that I buy an external monitor, but that

produce
another line of lap-tops in which the focus is as much on screen

width? Or must I abandon Apple and go to the the dark side?
