Hi all, Perhaps somebody on this list has solved the following problem and can shed some light on the matter. For everybody else, apologies for the nerdiness of this query...
I have two airport extremes (a new flat rectangular one, and an older circular one). I would like to the second one to extend the network of the first one. Both are set to "Participate in a WDS network". The first one I have set to a WDS mode of "WDS main" and the remote airport ID (of the second one) is entered in the "WDS remotes" list. The second one is set to a WDS mode of "WDS remote" with the first one's airport ID entered. The base stations are currently about a metre apart from each other. Unfortunately, the first one gives the following WDS error: "This base station is set up as part of a WDS network but no other base stations were found". I can connect to either base station from various Macs and a PC with no problems. I haven't found any solution to this conundrum from the documentation or Apple's support database. By the way, I have tried setting them both to use channel 1 or various combinations of 1, 6 and 11.
