Hi all,
Perhaps somebody on this list has solved the following problem and
can shed
some light on the matter. For everybody else, apologies for the
nerdiness of
this query...
I have two airport extremes (a new flat rectangular one, and an older
circular one). I would like to the second one to extend the network
of the
first one. Both are set to "Participate in a WDS network". The
first one I
have set to a WDS mode of "WDS main" and the remote airport ID (of the
second one) is entered in the "WDS remotes" list. The second one is
set to a
WDS mode of "WDS remote" with the first one's airport ID entered.
The base
stations are currently about a metre apart from each other.
Unfortunately, the first one gives the following WDS error: "This base
station is set up as part of a WDS network but no other base
stations were
found". I can connect to either base station from various Macs and
a PC with
no problems. I haven't found any solution to this conundrum from the
documentation or Apple's support database. By the way, I have tried
setting
them both to use channel 1 or various combinations of 1, 6 and 11.
Hi Andrew,
Both Airport Extremes need to be on the same Channel. I have both
mine on Channel 11.
In Airport Utility under 'Network' on your 'Main Base Station' and
your 'Remote Base Station', do you have
Connection Sharing: Off (Bridge Mode)?
Cheers,
Ronni
