I have a Magsafe Airline Adapter which I bought with my 17² MacBook Pro. I tried it with the standard lighter fitting in my current car, and although the light on the Magsafe Airline Adapter turned on and all looked good, I noticed that the battery power on my laptop fell away as if I hadn't got the laptop connected to power at all.
I assume the Magsafe Airline Adapter just isn't compatible with standard car lighter sockets, or maybe the car lighter socket doesn't dish out enough power to charge the MacBook Pro? I've just bought a new Toyota Kluger. I haven't taken delivery yet and so don't have access to the manual (and I can't find a soft copy of the manual online anywhere). I notice from the vehicle specs that the Kluger comes with a 'Power Accessory Socket'. Anyone know how this socket goes with a MacBook Pro? Is the Magsafe Airline Adapter likely to work with this socket so as to keep my MacBook Pro powered? Or do I need to buy another adapter of some description?
