Hi Steven
I don't know about the Magsafe butweI travelled east last Christmas
and camped in unpowered sites, using a Dick Smith $80 inverter and my
Powerbook charged from it using its regular AC charger. Just a
thought. If your Kluger has a second power accessory socket, you could
then run the inverter (up to 150A or 300A from direct battery clips )
from one and put a 4 in 1 accessory adaptor on the other one. That
way, as we did, you can recharge camera batteries, camp lights, mobile
phones etc on the run, all at the same time. Good luck.

I have a Magsafe Airline Adapter which I bought with my 17² MacBook
Pro. I
tried it with the standard lighter fitting in my current car, and
although
the light on the Magsafe Airline Adapter turned on and all looked
good, I
noticed that the battery power on my laptop fell away as if I hadn't
got the
laptop connected to power at all.
I assume the Magsafe Airline Adapter just isn't compatible with
standard car
lighter sockets, or maybe the car lighter socket doesn't dish out
enough
power to charge the MacBook Pro?
I've just bought a new Toyota Kluger. I haven't taken delivery yet
and so
don't have access to the manual (and I can't find a soft copy of the
manual
online anywhere). I notice from the vehicle specs that the Kluger
comes with
a 'Power Accessory Socket'. Anyone know how this socket goes with a
MacBook
Pro? Is the Magsafe Airline Adapter likely to work with this socket
so as to
keep my MacBook Pro powered? Or do I need to buy another adapter of
some
description?
