Hi Muggers
Hardly Normals have advertised some WD 1T external drives for about
$300, which seems good value. However they only use USB 2.0 for
connection and dont have firewire. I checked on the WD website and
there is quite a range of these drives, some already mac formatted and
with USB 2, Firewire 4 and 800 and esata.
Im wondering how much difference there is in using USB 2 compared to
Firewire 400 or 800? I generally only use Firewire 400 ext drives for
literally drag and drop folders to back up my MacBook Pro HD. Do you
think there would be a big difference in time to do say 100gb of
folders?
Some previous posts to the group suggested that WD are very reliable
drives compared to others including LaCie.
Kind regards
chris
