Hi Guys

Do you know if there is a problem being able to boot from an external firewire drive?

Macs generally will boot from a Firewire drive !

I have a MB & MBP and both will not install 10.4.9 on to these drive due to not being able to boot from them.

Is the problem that you cannot instal onto the Firewire drive ?

What format is the drive setup in ? HFS + ?

If you cannot get the Installer to run the software onto the External drive
one alternative is to Instal your OS onto an internal Hard drive Volume
and then use Superduper to copy it to a Volume on the external drive .

I suggest you create and keep a separate Volume on the external drive for the OS .
It makes it easy to troubleshoot the OS without interfering with any
other data you want to store on that drive.
