Hi Rosie

Have you tried Crossover? it does support quite a few PC games and is quite cheap :)

Hi Fellow List Members

Thank you to Peter H, Jude, Ronni, Adam & Peter C for your suggestions and feedback, regarding my recent posting.

I have checked the specs, settings and preferences on VMWare, Windows and the Mac, in an attempt to get to the bottom of the problems I was having with running games in virtual Windows mode.

I did install the VMWare Installation Tools, as suggested, and 'tweaked' the settings in accordance with Ronni's feedback, and while this assisted in being able to get a little further into some of the games, it wasn't able to fully rectify the issue. There still seems to be something conflicting, and it also causes in erratic sound and graphics even in the games' introductory movies. (I've checked Windows Media File, and this seems to be working okay, so the conflict shouldn't be there).

Ronni also mentioned that when it comes to Windows games, Boot Camp is very helpful. I am still running Tiger 10.4.11, and don't have Boot Camp. Unfortunately there appears to be no way that I can get BC until I install Leopard (Sometime in the distant future). I don't know whether BC would have made a difference, as I couldn't test it.

I think, for the time being, I might just forget about Windows games, and stick to my good old Mac games, which I know work ... and they mostly work very well.

Again, however, thanks to you all for your support and the generous sharing of your knowledge and expertise. It is very much appreciated.

Regards
Rosie
