Hi all i am presently offshore on a seismic ship and have been given some digital movies that have a suffix of .divx and a couple of .avi and .mpg.
These came from PC machines that are used by the crew to watch on large screen TV's during time off using a media player of some kind (in lieu of dvds). They look really good on the TV too. I have a macbook pro 15" with 10.5.2 and quicktime on (not pro). Are there other software programs that I can download to use to watch on my machine that anyone knows of? I imagine quicktime pro would open the mpg (it is xVid Mpeg 4 codec) but I dont have it here. Could I run the .divx movies in Windows on bootcamp perhaps?
