I'm not sure on the Epson TX550W, but I notice it's specifications
list "NETWORKING 802.11b/g WiFi".
I think Daniel Kerr has the latest model of these MF Wireless
Network Printers. He might comment on them if he can find the time
as I know he is run off his little feet at the moment, and very
sleep deprived.
The other Multifunction Printers only print wirelessly, you need to
connect them to your computer to scan as Michael has already
mentioned.

Are there issues with printer/scanner units on this sort of setup?
