Just noticed a further bit of weirdness with the scrambled e-mails: the dates on them once they are in Trash on my Mac are more than a year out of date, and the topics are also in the distant past. I have always made a point of emptying Trash on my Mac periodically, when it built up to several thousand. Are those long-gone e-mails still hanging around somewhere in the bowels of my Mac? Ugh.
I hope someone has some idea about a fix.
