Hi all, Has anyone else noticed that Mail.app has change the way it handles deleting highlighted text. The change seems to have started around the time of the update to OS X version 10.6.6.
Previously Mail.app behaved as TextEdit does now. If one highlights text and deletes it, the remaining text is unhighlighted and the cursor becomes an insertion point where the deleted text used to be so one can carry on typing. Now, in Mail.app, if one highlights text and deletes it, the highlighted text is indeed deleted but the highlighting remains in the same position. New text moves in under the highlight. If cone continues to type, this new highlighted text will be overwritten. One usually must clear the highlight with a mouse click or an arrow key before one can resume typing. Am I the only one experiencing this? I could get my Mac mini out of mothballs to check, but I though one of you would know immediately.
