Hi Severin,

Logical or not, were they able to complete another backup?
If they get the same message again, the disk really is too full.

Time Machine could not complete the backup

Time Machine could not delete enough backups to make room for a new one. This
happens most often when Time Machine needs to do a very large backup (or a full
one), but can't make enough room, and the Time Machine disk/partition isn't
well over twice the size of the data it's backing-up.

The message includes the amount of space that the backup requires; note that
it's the estimated size of the data to be backed up plus 20% (for workspace).

Cheers,
Ronni
