Hi Ronni, I did follow the instructions step by step and no brackets. I have
taken a Screen shot of the Systems preferences Sharing page and you can see
that the name has changed successfully. at aft://MBP/ or "MBP" I went back
over the last past of the instructions again and restated the MBP and turned
the Modem off, Things have stayed the same.

But I am glad you referred back to it because if you look at the "Shared
Folder's:" on the MBP right in the middle under File Sharing : On you will see
Matt Falvey Public Folder (with a normal folder icon) and underneath it
PowerBookG4 HD (with a HD icon), that is exactly what is turning up on the iMac
once I open up the Network>>MBP>Connect as - on the iMac.

Now I noticed underneath I have the + and - icons, would it be appropriate to
delete the PowerBookG4 HD from this Shared Folder, presuming it is now NOT the
actual MBP HD and that will get rid of it for ever? But then if it is not the
actual MBP HD by another name, why isn't that showing up there in its own right
under its own name? (Just checked the Imac and the HD name and the name in the
Shared Folders is the same, .)

So we have the situation of on the MBP in System preferences under Shared
Folders: the MBP being described as PowerBookG4 HD and if you then look at the
imac on the Finder window under Shared it has a little (iMac) symbol and MBP.
But once you try to launch it on Network you get the two options as previously
described.

More confusion. I will email the Screen shots privately as they are not allowed
on Wamug.

Matt
