Hi Ronni, with regard to 1. I think I might have resolved it or as we were looking at the wrong thing.
I went back to the Old PowerBookG4 and took a ScreenShot of its System Preferences> Sharing> File Sharing> Shared Folders>PowerBookG4 HD Users: System Administrator - Read & Write Administrators - Read & Write Everyone - Read Only I then revisited the MBP and wondered how could it be so different if all I did was use the Migration Assistant to copy the PBG4 to the MBP, then I realised that on the ScreenShot I had highlighted the Matt Falvey Public Folder and it was listing the users for that folder, (Which looked just as wrong, why would an unknown user have access to my public folder? [see below]) any way the setting for the MBP when I click on the PowerBookG4 are: MBP System Preferences> Sharing> File Sharing> Shared Folders>PowerBookG4 HD Users: System Administrator - Read & Write Administrators - Read & Write Everyone - Read Only Which is exactly the same format as on my iMac. So I went and checked my two daughters iMac's and their Shared Folders only had their Public Folders, No HD and the Users: (Name), Staff, Everyone, format that you mentioned. So I followed your instruction to Minus and stop sharing the PowerBookG4 and instantly it disappeared from the Shared screen on the iMac and the problem was fixed. I checked that I could still mount the MBP on the iMac and I could without any problems, So then I realised and the lack of an HD on my daughters Shared Folders also confirmed, that I did not need to put the HD into Shared Folders to be able to share it with other computers on the network. So I then took the iMac Macintosh HD off of its Shared folder and thus decreased the amount of icons in the shared section of the Finder window, on a roll here. Then I went back to the MBP and changed the Users in the Matt Falvey Public Folder to Matt Falvey - Read & Write, Staff - Read Only and Everyone - Read Only. Now I noticed that you had Everyone as Read and Write, were as all of the Mac's here have Everyone as Read Only, should I change them all or leave them all as is, the same?
