Hi Stephen,

There is a light on the charger which is red when charging, and then goes green 
when they are fully charged, takes a few hours. Then you just take them out of 
the charger and keep them for when they are needed. They are designed to have a 
very low standby discharge, so even if you leave them for a couple of months, 
they should still be near fully charged.

As an aside, how do I change my subscription to a daily digest?
