What do you suggest - a little portable > fw drive if there's such a thing? Yes, a weekly Bootable Clone is essential for your Powerbook. Yes, there are many (as I have quite a few ;-) Compact Portable Drives - Multiple Interfaces FW400/ FW800/USB2/SATA. I prefer Firewire, but also need the other connections for computers other than my own. Always Bus-powered – no AC adapter needed. I have found (when I was supporting some ‘Yuk-Windows’ Machines that I needed to use the AC adapter). But never have to on any Macs I’ve supported or owned. Brands are numerous. I go for recommended brands (I never go cheap with Drives) that I have used and know they haven't let me down. They have come DOWN in price and UP in Size … 1TB are a good size and reasonably priced now days. They are also lighter and slimmer, which you need. You don’t want something bulky to try and fit in your Computer Bag. There are always new models coming on the market so I’m hesitant to recommend a particular one for you.
