I have been given an iMac G5 running OS X 10.4.11 It has no WiFi but I was also given a Ralink USB Wireless Adapter. From the Ralink website I downloaded the driver and installed that on the iMac G5. However, when I go to System Preferences and click on Network there is no sign of the Adapter in the left hand column. I have searched the forums etc for clues on this issue with no luck. Has anyone ventured down this path and successfully connected to their local network? If so, your advice would be greatly appreciated. Last resort will be ethernet. Merv

A search of the net reveals that the "reed switch" was a common failure on this model. Has anyone had this problem and if so, were they able to achieve a successful resolution?
