Maybe Deja Vu uses Perl and there is some problem with the Perl interpreter.

Often individual errors generate multiple lines in the error log and the first 
of these lines has the clue to the real problem, so the last 20 lines or so of 
the log might provide more information. Could you post these for us to look at?

You can test if the Perl interpreter is working but it involves using Terminal 
and a couple of simple Unix commands. Do you feel confident doing that sort of 
thing?
