It seems that Apple finally released the vital Thunderbolt-to-Firewire cable, originally promised for July. It's currently availble from Apple's online store, but hopefully it won't be too long before it makes its way onto physical shelves locally. It has a single FW 800 port, so you will also need to have a 400-800 converted handy for all those FW 400 devices.
