Hi Pete Yes, Handbrake is an excellent app with many more features than Smart Converter. But Smart Converter is very simple to use for a quick conversion. Anyway, Rick's problem seems to be with his Sony TV USB playback. I assume he will test his TV (and his USB stick) with known good AVI (or audio) files.
