Also have a play with - System Preferences - Accessibility. Click onto Mouse & Trackpad. Click on "Trackpad Options…". You'll see a setting there "Scrolling with inertia". Untick that and try it as well. If it's not ticked, it won't "scroll as fast". - which is a bit of the "older way". Some people find it better without it ticked on, and more easy to navigate.
