I had two emails in Drafts, both over a week old. I was working on one of them last night when both disappeared. Tried several things including Mailbox Rebuild and a Time Machine Restore. T.M. Restore made things worse!
I was using iiNet POP account with Mail 6.5 and Mountain Lion OS X 10.8.4 on a late 2012 Fusion iMac 27" Intel Quad Core i5. Finding the old drafts would be nice, but not critical. But Time Machine behaviour is worrying. The Draft mailbox in T.M. history for yesterday afternoon showed both missing emails. On Restoring the mailbox, T.M. created the Drafts folder but it was was empty. But somehow T.M. has changed all mailbox names (two gmail and 2 iinet accounts) to old names that I had renamed some weeks ago. Closing and restarting Mail did not fix initial problem so I shut down the iMac last night. This morning tried Mailbox Rebuild and then Time Machine Restore. Mailbox Rebuild actually restored one very old draft, but not the ones I wanted. I enter my own address in the draft emails "TO" field in case of accidents, but the missing drafts do dot show in the Sent or Inbox folder. Content of all other mail folders seems to be unaffected. Any suggestions for finding the Drafts and explaining Time Machine actions?
