Hi Severin When you have it plugged in and iTunes open, then under Devices where the iPad mini is plugged in, look on the right hand side and click on "Check for Updates". It will then tell you iOS 7 is available. (Otherwise it wouldn't show up until it's next "due weekly check" or whatever you have it set to).
