Hi Blitto, Whew, I don't think I would have updated in your situation just yet.
You will not be able to print using the Equitrac Education printing system, due to a printer driver issue. You will have to wait until an updated driver is released. Equitrac In their marketing materials, Equitrac say that: “Follow-You Printing holds documents in a secure print server until users authenticate themselves at the networked printer of their choice, anywhere on your print network — across servers, departments and even geographic boundaries.” 2 and that it: “Integrates easily into multi-vendor environments.” 3 But, the technical manual shows that this may not be the case: “The key to creating pull groups is to ensure that all device drivers within the group are technologically compatible. If you want a print job generated for one printer to output successfully on another printer, you must ensure that the other printer can understand all of the print commands included in the datastream from the driver.”4 You will find the above information on page 10 in the PDF at the link below. <http://www.canon.co.uk/Images/White%20paper%20-%20universal%20driver_tcm14-686519.pdf> Cheers, Ronni Sent from Ronni's iPad4 > On 3 Nov 2013, at 2:59 pm, Rod Blitvich <[email protected]> wrote: > > Thanks Ronni > I upgraded last night > Back to work Monday - hopefully al will be good > ta > blitto > > <image.gif> > Rod Blitvich - Amy & Sam’s Dad > . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . > Good Ideas > 0409 681 256 > [email protected] > > >> On 3 Nov 2013, at 11:59 am, Ronda Brown <[email protected]> wrote: >> >> Hi Blitto, >> >> This will explain help explain the comment you have heard, but there is a >> very easy workaround. >>> smb broken, using cifs command to mount >> >> "Apple adjusted the default protocol for SMB (Samba, the Windows file >> sharing ability) from SMB1 to SMB2, and the SMB2 implementation apparently >> carries a bug which is incompatible with many NAS (Network Attached Storage) >> devices, and some versions of Windows." >> >> "Fortunately there’s a very easy workaround to connect to SMB and NAS shares >> from OS X Mavericks:" >> >> Connect to SMB & NAS Network Shares in OS X Mavericks >> <http://osxdaily.com/2013/10/30/connect-smb-nas-network-shares-os-x-mavericks/> >> >> Cheers, >> Ronni >> Sent from Ronni's iPad4 >> >>> On 2 Nov 2013, at 10:54 am, Rod Blitvich <[email protected]> wrote: >>> >>> Hi Folks >>> Will Mavericks cause problems at my DET SOE 4 (Windows) school? >>> I 'd like to continue to be on the school network, access the printers and >>> shared drives etc >>> >>> Someone said this: >>> "So far: >>> >>> - Safari does not like https over a proxy >>> - smb broken, using cifs command to mount >>> - equitrack printing broken >>> >>> Overall DOA at out school. :(" >>> >>> ta >>> blitto >>> >>> <image.gif> >>> Rod Blitvich - Amy & Sam’s Dad >>> . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . >>> 0409 681 256 >>> [email protected] >>> http://web.mac.com/blitto >>> >>> I don't have a big ego, I'm way too cool for that.
