If your school uses a proxy with authentication which I imagine it does, Mavericks OS X 10.9 - Proxy Authentication does NOT work. Some say the "workaround” at the moment is using Squidman. Also suggested was running this command in terminal solved the problem with Safari. sudo launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.UserNotificationCenter.plist But then others say running that command is NOT a solution for this problem It only suppresses the proxy password windows. But it doesn't solve, that the authentication doesn't work. So whoever told you the Three Problems/Issues, he seems to be correct.
