Hi Stephen, Rescue email address and how to reset Apple ID security questions If you can't recall your Apple ID security questions and answers, the optional rescue email provides a way to reset them. Additionally, all future security-related emails for your Apple ID will be sent to the rescue email address.
When creating a new Apple ID for use with the iTunes Store or Mac App Store, you will be asked to provide an optional rescue email address. If you have an existing Apple ID that you use with the iTunes Store or Mac App Store, you may be asked to provide some additional security information, including a rescue email address. When you provide a rescue email address, all future security emails, such as password resets from iForgot, will be sent to the address provided. The rescue email address you provide cannot be the same as your primary email address for your Apple ID.
