Hi Chris The Samsung 1Tb SSD are about $700 ish, check eBay. My MacBook Pro 17" is a bit long in the tooth and goes to work everyday so I was after data security/ HD durability. The drive is capable of three times the access speed of my MacBookPro but I have noticed improvements over the 7200rpm HD it replaced. Ease of installation - Daniel is your man for that.
