A friend of mine uses Safari 7.0.5, and she has hundreds of adds popping up, all in their own window, they appear in the browser and windows behind the browser. Often the address bar on these adds is 'Mac Keeper'. To get around this, she used an open source add blocker ABP which seemed to block some adds. For instance seven hundred and twenty adds were blocked over two days. Now Safari is showing say up to 12 adds are being blocked over 10 minutes. But others are appending in windows all the time.
She has emptied the history and cache, plus cleaned the system with Onyx and Disk Utilities. Mavericks OS 10.9.4/4GB RAM/2.3 GHz//MacBook Pro 2013/15" screen/ Any idea how she may stop this? or is this a virus issue?
