What did Highway1/ZettaNet suggest?

Blue light Blinking (once every 2.9 seconds) Modem is registered to a UMTS 
network

What settings do you have for the Huawei E160E in System Preferences > Network
Select Huawei Modem in the left pane
Click on Advanced
What settings do you have there?
