Hi Bill,
If you want to avoid similar problems in the future you should be able to set photos to NOT open automatically when you plug in something that would otherwise trigger it (card/camera/phone/ipad). I remember I did this back when I used to plug my iphone into my iMac to sync music etc but preferred to use image capture rather than the Photos app to manage my photos. It used to annoy me that Photos would open every time I plugged the phone in – so I found the setting to switch it off. Of course, you might prefer photos to open automatically - in which case I guess you have to remember to unplug when you have finished ;o) We all have our own ways of how we like to do these things – but I just thought I’d mention it.
