Hi Neil.

How do you set photos to NOT auto open please?

It annoys me too, but I cannot find in preferences.

Hi Bill,

If you want to avoid similar problems in the future you should be able to set
photos to NOT open automatically when you plug in something that would
otherwise trigger it (card/camera/phone/ipad).

I remember I did this back when I used to plug my iphone into my iMac to sync
music etc but preferred to use image capture rather than the Photos app to
manage my photos. It used to annoy me that Photos would open every time I
plugged the phone in – so I found the setting to switch it off.

Of course, you might prefer photos to open automatically - in which case I
guess you have to remember to unplug when you have finished ;o)

We all have our own ways of how we like to do these things – but I just thought
I’d mention it.

Cheers

automatic photos popping up.

Do you have a USB or SD card connected that contains photos?

Photos may sense there are images on the card/USB and is opening to let you you
know there’s something you might like to import.

My spelling mistake I meant it has opened photos. While I was sitting here ten
minutes ago doing nothing photos just opened itself, with no keyboard stokes.
