Hi Pat,
Something you could try is running the inbuilt Mac hardware testing diagnostics - depending on what the problem is it may or may not work/help - but worth a try. I don't know what the age or OSX version is for your MacPro but: For Macs released before June 2013 run Apple Hardware test https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT201257 For Macs released after June 2013 run Apple Diagnostics https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT202731 See also https://support.apple.com/en-au/guide/mac-help/mh35727/mac Be aware that these tests can take some time to complete - so be patient. As I say, this may or may not identify a problem - but it is probably a good place to start. I am hoping someone will recognise the symptoms and possibly have some suggestions that might help. When I press the start button, the chime happens as it should, and it seems to start. But all too soon, like, 5 minutes, it quits. Then it chimes again and quits again, repeats again and again until I turn it off. I thought possibly it was heating up too much, but the temp inside the room is cool. Or something might have been wrongly connected. Any ideas??
