Maria Qibtiyah itu Kristen Koptik. Yang Yahudi adalah Raihana dan
Safiyya/Sophia.

Raihana adalah salah seorang tawanan Banu Quraiza. Ia
jatuh menjadi bagian Muhammad. Kepadanya ditawarkan
kalau-kalau ia bersedia menjadi orang Islam. Tetapi ia
tetap bertahan dengan agama Yahudinya. Juga ditawarkan
kepadanya kalau-kalau ia mau di kawini. Tetapi dia
menjawab: "Biar sajalah saya dibawah tuan. Ini akan
lebih ringan buat saya, juga buat tuan."

Barangkali juga, melekatnya ia kepada agama Yahudi
dan penolakannya akan dikawin, berpangkal pada
fanatisma kegolongan, serta sisa-sisa kebencian
yang masih tertanam dalam hatinya terhadap kaum
Muslimin dan terhadap Nabi. Tetapi tidak ada orang
yang bicara tentang kecantikan Raihana seperti yang
pernah disebut-sebut orang tentang Zainab bt. Jahsy,
miliknya.

Maria Qibtiyya

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maria_al-Qibtiyya

Maria al-Qibtiyya (Arabic: مارية القبطية) (alternatively, especially in
non-Arabic traditions, "Maria Qupthiya"), or Maria the Copt, was a Coptic
Christian slave who was sent as a gift from Muqawqis, a Byzantine official,
to the Islamic prophet Muhammad in 628 CE. According to most Islamic
accounts, she was Muhammad's wife. However, some scholars have claimed that
she stayed as a concubine. She was the mother of Muhammad's short-lived son
Ibrahim, who died in infancy. Maria never remarried, and died five years
after Muhammad, in 637 CE.

Maria and her sister sent from the Patriarch

Tabari does, however recount the story of Maria's arrival from Egypt:

In this year Hātib b. Abi Balta'ah came back from al-Muqawqis bringing
Māriyah and her sister Sīrīn, his female mule Duldul, his donkey Ya'fūr, and
sets of garments. With the two women al-Muqawqis had sent a eununch, and the
latter stayed with them. Hātib had invited them to become Muslims before he
arrived with them, and Māriyah and her sister did so. The Messenger of God
lodged them with Umm Sulaym bt. Milhān. Māriyah was beautiful. The Prophet
sent her sister Sīrīn to Hassān b. Thābit and she bore him 'Abd al-Rahmān b.
Hassān. (p. 131)

Many Muslim sources say that Muhammad later freed and married Maria, but it
is not clear if this is historical fact or historical apology. Some Muslim
traditions claim that Muhammmad offered to free Maria, but that she chose to
remain a slave. To further complicate matters, slaves were to be
automatically freed upon conversion to Islam, so it is not clear why Maria
would have to be explicitly freed if she had already converted.

The fact that Maria was not housed with Muhammad's other wives argues that
she may have been a concubine. Muhammad lived in a humble mud-brick dwelling
next to the Medina mosque, and each of his wives had her own mud-brick room,
built in a line next to his. Maria, however, was lodged in a house on the
edge of Medina. Maria is also not listed as a wife in some of the earliest
sources, such as Ibn Hisham's notes on Ibn Ishaq's Sira (Guillaume 691–798).
Muslim sources are unanimous in saying that she was accorded the same honor
and respect given Muhammad's wives, pointing out that she was given the same
title as Muhammad's wives — "Mother of the Believers."

Safiyya
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safiyya_bint_Huyayy

Safiyya bint Huyayy (Arabic: صفية بنت حيي) was a Jewess who was married to
the Prophet Muhammad.

Life

She was married to Muhammad at the age of seventeen. The marriage occurred
after the battle of Khaybar. She was the daughter of Huyayy ibn Akhtab, the
chief of Jewish tribe Banu Nadir, who were earlier expelled from Medina for
allegedly plotting to kill Muhammad. She was married to Kinana ibn al-Rabi'a
before the Muslims attacked Khaybar. Her husband is said to have been killed
in the battle. Before that she was the wife of Sallam ibn Mishkam, who had
divorced her. She was with Muhammad for nearly four years before Muhammad
died. She lived as a widow for the next thirty-nine years, dying at the age
of sixty. According to Muslims, Muhammad married her to save her from
becoming a slave after the defeat of her tribe in the battle of Khaybar.

Controversy

Several controversies surround Safiyya bint Huyayy

Some non-muslim scholars believe that Safiyya's husband was captured, and
that Muhammad had him tortured and executed, becoming betrothed to Safiyya
the same day. [1]

Muslims claim Muhammad married Safiyya to save her from becoming a slave
after the defeat of her tribe in the battle of Khaybar. However, critics
challenge this, claiming Muhammed could simply have declared her free,
instead of consistently sanctioning the enslaving of women in wartime.

Some critics also denounce the age difference of the marriage, since
Muhammad was sixty years old at the time.

Mungkin saja Maria sudah dibebaskan dan diperistri oleh nabi. Saya pun
tidak bisa menyangkal kepada kemungkinan ini. Dan Maria Qibtiyah itu bukan
keturunan Yahudi lho. Setahu saya, setelah melahirkan Ibrahim, Maria
kemudian memang bergelar Ummul Mukminin.
