Jakarta, 29 30 October 2007 The 3rd Meeting of the ASEAN Telecommunications and IT Ministers (TELMIN), held in September 2003, adopted the Singapore Declaration an action agenda to harness technological advances in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to create digital opportunities for ASEAN and to enhance ASEANs overall competitiveness. In addition, Chairman Statement of the 11th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Science and Technology, conducted on August 12th, 2005, Jakarta, resulted in one such point which is Within the informatics era, such collaboration could be improved in time wise, efficiency, as well as productivity through network technology. Considering various economic level of ASEAN member Countries, the option on utilizing open source presents a way of encouraging openness and accessibility for all parties to take part. It was suggested within the Meeting about ASEAN, Go Open Source.
