A) IMHO this was kind of chaos...
Perhaps next time there should be a bit more talk. And if new procedures shall 
be incorporated, I'd like to know beforehand.
Otherwise someone who did go through this process before should perhaps be 
consulted to familiarise the new release manager...
B) There should be a last status report _before_ the release, so people like 
me, who do not hang out in IRC all day (anymore), know what is going on and 
maybe can have a last look over the things to prevent enerving fixups after 
the incident.
I know, I didn't do that before either, but then no one complained and I 
obviously did not need to inform myself...
