I can understand you for licensing it under BSD...
Though for simplicities sake I would prefer reading (c) WZR in the header and 
seeing GPL2+ as license...
Debian has quite some big file to deal and mention all those files with 
specific copyright headers or licenses...

Two ideas:
1. License under GPL2+ (c) WZR and store a copy under BSD somewhere else.
2. Dual license. @Debian: Would that help simplifying the list, or just 
clutter it even more?

ones I trust most in such issues, and they care most about it.
