As I understood it originally, the 2.x series would be kept around for
people with low-end graphics cards and trunk would be the go-forward 
branch.  Since trunk seems to be... diverisifying and has a number of
playability issues, your proposal makes sense.  Count me in.

Textures should not be a show stopper.  They can always be tweaked/improved
or swapped out later.

I would suggest bumping the version number up to 3.x to help insure there
is no confusion between the low-end graphics and hi-end versions of WZ.
