#2828: Segfault at startup on the new master

The new master build (20110717) always crashes (segfaults) at startup for
me. Previous master builds worked well.
My video card is

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV620 LE AGP
[Radeon HD 3450]
}}}
and i'm using "catalyst" proprietary driver v10.8 on Archlinux; not sure
it's related though.
Crash dumps attached.
